New-born department

(on 75 beds with the chambers of intensive therapy for new-born on 6 beds)

The Chief of the department Madzigon Natalia heads the department from 1995 year, has 15 years in speciality, passed studies on trainings of VOOZ «Modern perinatal technologies», «Infectious control in maternity hospitals».

Equipment of new-born department:

• photometric analyzer of huperbilirubinemia;
• incubators;
• bassinets for newborns with heating;
• phototherapy lamps;
• electronic scales;
• lamps for a primary reanimation.

Basic directions of work:

1. providing the optimum conditions for healthy new-born and studies of family;
2. providing the specialized perinatal care help for new-borns.

Methods:

1. compatible stay of mother and new-born in individual chambers;
2. active participacion of family in new-born’s care;
3. providing the “thermal chain” for new-born;
4. the use of “kangaroo” method for new-borns with low mass;
5. teaching mothers exceptionally breastfeeding on all of the stages of stay of woman in the center;
6. minimal usage of invasion methods for examination and treatment of new-borns.

Perspectives:

• improvement of organization of the breastfeeding, care of child, warning of the threatening of new-borns,
• improvement the quality of new-borns medical care,
• consultative help in the breastfeeding after mother’s discharge.
